Homeschool History Outsourced was created for families who want more from history than worksheets and memorized dates.
Our classes are led by Mr. Kevin, a history-loving, discussion-driven teacher based in North Texas who believes students learn best when they are actively thinking, questioning, and writing. Classes are structured, engaging, and intentionally designed to challenge middle and high school students in a way that builds confidence rather than overwhelm.
What makes Homeschool History Outsourced different is that most classes include a significant writing component. Students are not only learning history, they are learning how to think critically about it and communicate those ideas clearly in writing. Essays, short responses, and structured assignments are woven into the coursework so students develop strong academic writing skills alongside historical understanding. Two birds, one stone.
Classes use a Socratic-style format that encourages discussion, respectful debate, and evidence-based thinking. Students learn that they do not have to agree with everyone else, but they do need to support their ideas with historical facts. This approach helps students find their voice, engage thoughtfully with others, and grow in confidence both verbally and on paper.
Courses span a range of historical periods, from Ancient Civilizations to U.S. History and Government, with an emphasis on analysis, discussion, and writing rather than rote memorization.
