I teach middle and high school history, government, and economics—including everything from ancient civilizations to modern America. If it shaped the world, we’re probably talking about it.
🎓 Background Check:
I started in business, but eventually realized spreadsheets weren’t my final destination. I went back to school and earned a master’s degree in military history. My teaching career began when my wife asked me to teach our kids—which quickly expanded to their friends—and now here we are, several years and many classes later.

Married to my favorite person, Natalia, for 20 years. We have three awesome kids:

We’ve homeschooled for over 14 years and still like each other most days.
🐾 Household Tyrant:
Buttercup, our 5-year-old dachshund. Small legs. Big attitude. I also have a voice I use exclusively for talking to her. No, you may not hear it.

- My daily “uniform” is a band t-shirt and gym shorts.
- I took 3 years of Latin in college, and married someone who did too.
- I will 100% pause a movie to give historical context (sorry, not sorry).
- I’ve accidentally given hour-long lectures in casual conversation.
- If I could time travel, I’d wander the marble halls of ancient Greece to listen to the philosopher’s dream, stand beneath the rising arches of Rome as it built a world, and then quietly slip into Philadelphia in the spring of 1776—when words were sharpening into revolution and history was just beginning to stir.
- I bite my dog’s lip. She lets me. It’s a whole thing.
- I believe learning should be relevant, thought-provoking, and just fun enough to make you forget it’s a class.
